Financing
Designing innovative financing agreements between local partners and donors that incentivize social impact and build local capacity while mitigating risk.
Our Work
Open Development supports our partners to design innovative financing agreements that incentivize the achievement of social impact while mitigating the risks to governments, donors, or other financiers, including:
Designing and evaluating performance-based financing mechanisms to align domestic and donor investments with the achievement of health outputs and outcomes that can be sustained
Developing strategies to mitigate programmatic and financial risk to donors when providing financing through country systems and local organizations to promote ‘learning by doing’
Ensuring that results-based financing (including donor financing) promotes transparency and accountability by engaging local stakeholders in the monitoring and verification of results
Country Spotlight
Open Development has extensive expertise working with donors and their partners to assess, structure, negotiate, implement, and monitor agreements for government-to-government support. Direct financial support to governments strengthens local systems through their use and builds local capacity by empowering stakeholders.
