Annick Ranirisoa

Annick is a health policy advisor with over ten years of experience in the public health sector providing technical assistance to governments in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health programs, strategic plans, and policies in thematic areas including WASH, community health, reproductive health, family planning, health financing, and universal health care. Before joining Open Development, Annick worked for Palladium, as a Health Policy Advisor for HP+ Madagascar where she provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in developing, costing, and monitoring the execution of the country’s Costed Implementation Plan for Family Planning 2016-2020; advocating for a new reproductive health law; developing investment case for Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition; and analyzng the flow of public funds for the health sector. Her experiences also include project management and monitoring and evaluation of health programs and policies.

Annick started her career as a Regional Coordinator of a USAID-funded WASH project in Madagascar, working with Community Health Workers, WASH-friendly schools and health facilities, media, and local authorities to promote hygiene behavior change and the institutionalization of the WASH campaign. She then worked at Medical Care Development International as a National Coordinator for Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) where she led the development of the national CLTS strategy for a 5-year project funded by the Global Sanitation Fund and engaged policy makers to influence effective coordination and political commitment. After completion of a Humphrey Fellowship Program (2011-2012) in the US, Annick completed her Master of Science Degree in Health and Medical Policy at George Mason University.
